Areas in Marbella

Situated on the southern tip of Spain, Marbella is favoured with a fantastic climate, widely protected from temperature extremes and thus ensuring a stable microclimate throughout the year. Marbella lies between the Sierra Blanca Mountains and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea being surrounded by greenery and semi-tropical plants and trees. This is an area which offers everything: sun, beaches, the sea, mountains, culture, fantastic shopping and sophisticated night life which is unique in Europe.

Marbella Central

From its beginnings as a humble fishing village, Marbella has blossomed into a sophisticated and cosmopolitan town situated at the heart of the Costa del Sol. Marbella is far more than a typical Spanish tourist destination, its bustling town and thriving economy has seen many UK business people relocating here on a permanent basis, along with a host of international celebrities and sports stars that now call the town their home.

A charming Andalusian style old town is complimented by modern architecture and a fantastic promenade along miles of golden beaches. Walk through the town and you will discover an array of parks, fountains and squares, and a host of cultural treats including the "Avenida del Mar" featuring the sculptures of Salvador Dali.

In Marbella traditional markets and shops can be found alongside designer boutiques with shopping to fit all tastes and budgets. Similarly, the town's tapas bars, cafes and restaurants serve every type of cuisine imaginable ranging from typical local food to the best international gastronomy. In the evening the town boasts a vibrant nightlife. An eclectic mix of tapas bars, Irish pubs, beach bars and upmarket discotheques can all be experienced.

Marbella also has the benefit of two modern hospitals and several smaller health clinics catering for English speakers, as well as an extensive choice of international schools.

Marbella East

The up-market residential areas of Marbella East including Las Chapas and Cabopino are now recognized as prime locations for those seeking a high quality family residence within a safe and secure neighbourhood on the Costa del Sol.

Great care has been taken to ensure that the modern architecture of recent villas compliments that of the established fincas to create an idyllic residential environment which exists harmoniously within its breathtaking natural surroundings.

Some of Marbella's most beautiful beaches can also be found here. For example Playa de Alicate, which in contrast to the busier tourist beaches closer to town is less commercialised with only a handful of "chiringuitos" creating a relaxed and welcoming family atmosphere. The stylish Nicki Beach is also only a short distance away.

The proximity of East Marbella to the centre of town - approximately 5 kilometres - ensures that residents are uncompromised between the pleasures of living within a natural and largely unspoilt location whilst still being able to enjoy all the amenities and facilities that urban living has to offer. A convenient location for commuting, East Marbella is situated just off the main E15 coastal road and only 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.

A popular location with the many international executives and high net worth individuals wanting to participate in the Marbella "way of life", many superb luxury family villas are located in the vicinity of Marbella East.

Puerto Banus

With the stunning backdrop of the Sierra Blanca, Puerto Banus is southern Spain's most exclusive resort, with it's famous marina playing host to some of the world's largest and most expensive cruisers and private yachts - a place to see and be seen!

Elegant Andalusian style apartment buildings run along the port's front line and the boulevard is littered with chic cafes, restaurants and wine bars. The area is very well maintained, with attractive palm trees running along the pedestrian promenade and lots of clean sandy beaches.

In recent years, much work has been carried out to improve the infrastructure and facilities found behind the main port, giving the area a very sophisticated and modern feel. The main square is an extensive, marble paved plaza - the perfect place to relax and people watch whether it be day or night.

Famous designers including Dolce and Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Gianni Versace and Ralph Lauren also have exclusive stores here, along with a plethora of exquisite boutiques. Shopping enthusiasts can also enjoy the huge El Corte Ingles department store and the Marina Banus shopping centre.

Puerto Banus has a thriving nightlife. On the front line you can relax in one of the upmarket restaurants or winebars whilst enjoying the view out to the marina. For something more lively, Puerto Banus' second line offers a non-stop party scene with every type of pub, wine bar and discotheque imaginable! Through the summer, the famous Dreamers Discotheque is host to some of the world's top DJs, attracting many famous faces.

The Golden Mile

Marbella's famous Golden Mile begins on the western side of the town and stretches to Puerto Banus. Possibly the most exclusive area of Marbella, the golden mile is home to some of the most impressive private villas and estates - you could expect to pay around 2,000,000 euros for a beachside apartment in this location. Residents of the Golden Mile are also able to enjoy Five Star facilities as the four most pestigious hotels in Marbella - Gran Melia Don Pepe, Guadalpin, Marbella Club, Puente Romano - are all located here. Each of the hotels offer the finest recreational facilities including spas, health clubs, hairdressers and designer boutiques, along with a multitude of restaurants offering gourmet cuisine from around the globe. You can also find lovely tree-lined shopping parades with boutiques providing everything for the home including modern and fine art, designer interiors, exclusive kitchen and bathroom furniture and the latest high-tech audio and visual equipment. A newly opened El Corte Ingles dedicated to high quality furniture and interiors is also to be found on the Golden Mile. By day you can relax and enjoy the "bohemian" cafe culture and by night sample a taste of the high life in one of the luxurious hotel clubs such as The Suite at the Puente Romano. The ever popular Da Bruno restaurant is an excellent place to begin your evening and the restaurant even offers a gourmet takeaway service! Also not to be missed is the renowned Toni Dali 'Restaurante Italiano' situated in the small and exclusive Oasis Club, where the proprietor Toni always provides a warm welcome and is himself something of a local celebrity!

Nueva Andalucia

Nueva Andalucia may be one of the newest areas on the Costa del Sol, but its careful design with well kept streets and luxury homes has contributed to the area's immense popularity.

Located in an elevated position at the foot of the Sierra Blanca mountain range, Nueva Andalucia is also known as the "Golf Valley" with several world-class golf courses being located here, including Club de Golf Los Naranjos, Alcores Golf, Las Brisas, Aloha Golf, Club de Golf de la Dama de Noche, La Quinta Golf and Magna Marbella Golf. Nueva Andalucia also has the benefit of being only a few minutes drive from the beach, as well as the towns of Puerto Banus and Marbella.

The area also offers exclusive nightlife with a refined selection of winebars, a casino and several high-class restaurants offering international cuisine including American deli style fare to cordon bleu. The largest bull ring in the area is also situated in Nueva Andalucia and provides a popular concert venue.
